The Gaspé Peninsula is otherwise known as the Gaspésie, it is a peninsula located on the south shore of the Saint Lawrence river in Quebec. An outdoors paradise, the peninsula still has rustic untouched areas to travel as well as indigenous peoples who have maintained their culture and way of life for generations. The interior of the Gaspé is rugged and mountainous as it is comprised of an extension of the Appalachian Mountains, called the Chic-Choc Mountains.

For the hiker, this is a section of the International Appalachian Trail which travels along the outside of the peninsula on Route 132. If you are not a hiker, this extreme climate is also an amazing area for bird watching as well.

Jutting out into the Gulf of St. Lawrence, the Gaspé Peninsula is known for its beautiful views of both islands and mountains. It is home to meadows, estuaries, cliffs, waterfalls and sheer beauty for the adventurer.

The best time to travel depends on what you would like to see. Hiking in Spring through Fall is beautiful, whale watching in the June and July is amazing while sea kayaking, and winter is great for cross country skiing.
